Apologies
Sorry that I missed yesterday's post.. was on the phone talking so I didn't have time to update.. well here's the breakdown...
Friday
Well in the morning I was running around like a monkey... went all over Tampines Central to do my errands.. deposit money, buy items, stationary etc etc to complete my packing list of things to bring over to Aus... then went to meet Min for lunch at her office... and that's where I finally found my software!!! so happy that there's still one existing shop in Singapore.. hahaha.. shan't reveal where it is.. wait teo catch.. haha!! anyways yeah managed to get my software and some games too.. then after lunch went over to Park Lane and City Music to check out the bass guitar and hard case prices.. was thinking of getting a hard case for my guitar when I go over, but decided against it.. wait have to checkin then add to my already pretty big luggages.. =)
anyways saw the bass in park lane.. pretty cheap.. but can't expect much from TGM can you? hehe.. yep then went over to City Music.. their hard case was like $200!!!! the park lane shop was selling $89... anyways also saw some effects pedals.. the Korg Toneworks A1500 or something like dat looked pretty good.. somewhat similar to the GFX-4 that Meng Huat always lets me use.. =) $425!!! man.. so much money.. hahahaha!! so after my recce, went back home to install the software and games, but the game dun work!! so before going youth, went down to the shop again to change the disc and try again...
youth was alright today... Raju led worship, I was his backup.. hehe.. the worship was good I must say though!! good job!! Ps Seaward shared today from 1 Tim... about youth and our generation, reaching out to the young people that we meet everyday.. He really has a lot of stories to share.. =) yep then after youth went to eat at the restaurant opposite church before heading home... =)
Saturday
today yes that SOMEBODY is ME... I set my alarm at 930am but only got up at 12pm after hearing min's 2nd sms.. hehe =) well shan't repeat the lunch portion... so move on to evening... =) went to church for Edge.. was late for practise but it was alright.. I arrived just as they were starting the practise proper after pre-practise prayer... so I didn't miss much!! and the worship was good too!!
Today Ps Jeremy Seaward shared about Breaking Through our Barrenness... continuing on the parable of the seeds, he posed us 3 qns to ask to break through our barrenness:
1) Are we willing to be the person that God wants us to be?
Sharing from Judges and the story of Gideon, the name 'Gideon' actually means 'Warrior', which was who God wanted him to be, to rise up and deliver the Israelites from the hands of the Midianites, but yet he was threshing wheat in a winepress, having the call but not answering it...
2) Are we willing to believe again?
Gideon was looking for miracles, but he had never ever seen one! He was seeking so much and was disappointed when nothing was happening... remember that in ministry, we are only called to sow the seeds... like in the parable of the seeds, the farmer knew that there was thorny ground and the footpath and the rocky soil, yet he carried on sowing the seeds, because it is God who brings forth the fruit!! So we don't have to worry about whether a non-believer you bring receives Christ, let God handle the work in his life.. =)
3) Are we willing to use what we have?
In Gideon's time, everyone was waiting for a miracle to come from someone else! nobody dared to stand up to fight, to take the lead cos they all felt inadequate... yet God has called us, and He will use us with whatever we have... with whatever strength we have.. because we don't rely on our strength, but we draw our strength from Him!!!!
The message was really good, and really saw breakthroughs in people during the ministry time... man I'm so gonna miss everyone when I leave... but I know God's got a great plan ahead for me during my time in Aus... I know I'm not going there just to get a degree, cos He's got something worked out.. I'm believing and expecting great things to happen!! do pray with me in this regard.. =)
Yep anyway after service, went over to the corner coffeeshop next to tongtong to eat dinner.. very slow the food today, cos they were understaffed apparantly.. at least we had some entertainment from Amy's dog.. its a rabbit in dog's clothing.. it's so hyper man!! and it can jump pretty high too.. hahaa =) like what michelle says, its a dog that jumps like a rabbit and smells like a fish! =) don't ask me why, i didn't smell it.. =) yeah then after dinner, went back to church, had a few matches of soccer 3-on-3... wah really very tired after that.. and so sweaty and smelly.. and they stank my car.. haha!! well i think i contributed the most smell.. kekeke =) but it was an enjoyable time.. joanne and michelle also joined in too!! =)
well i must apologise for such a long post, but then again, I can't help sharing about my day.. think one thing this blog has helped me really is not to be so introverted and keeping things to myself... guess sharing my day is just one of the ways of expressing and really being open to people, that they may in turn see Christ in my life.. a living and walking testimony to Him!! I really thank God for that.. anyways its late.. i'm playing drums tomorrow.. =) after a long long time.. =) ok then gdnite peepz!!!
