"Only Human Begins are genetically driven by the need for power"
This phrase keeps ringing in my head after watching the
Manchurian Candidate. Great storyline, though i was lost half the time, i finally understood the plot much later when it all falls in place. It's basically a political thriller movie abt war and a little related to the current US election.
Learnt that there's a constant need for power n status. A form of identity that us human are alwiz seeking after. It's the ability to use external control towards situation in order to satisfy oneself. Psychology plays a big part in the society. The sad thing is what you see may not be what you get. I'm not referring just the government. Even parents, teachers, friends or spouse want things to work out ideally. They will 'force' the other party to do what they want them to do. Sounds as if its for the benefit for everyone huh. But i guess it's normally motivated by self interest. This constant struggle to battle for power often lead to selfish thoughts, pain and fatigue. Will also result in disappointment with self and others. Am I making sense here? Thinking too much but these are facts that some of us are not aware of. It's a choice of doing whats best for others n ourselves.
Nothing can truly satisfy us when we try to gain power over man.
"Disappointment are man-made but there's greater power when we place complete trust in God"

Excited over BUGS?!
Finally managed to log on blogger. I'm so lazy to blog and partly bec my com has serious problems... often hang and it's v lagging. Maybe it's infected by bugs/virus? Or m i too impatient?
Suppose to go out this morning but decided to laze in bed till my mum and brother came in to cramp in this super single bed. So i got up to read magazine...dunno y they prefer my bed, said to be more comfortable den theirs but why do I always get back ache when I wake up? Hmm that's contradicting.
My bro showed me the Amazing Live prehistoric Billabong bugs which he's gonna bring tml for his Sunday school BUGS PARTY.
"What's Bugging you?" That's the theme for children ministry as they embark on the 40 Days of Purpose campaign. Kids are suppose to bring unique bugs related stuff and do research on specific bugs. How each bugs represent each purpose: "Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry n Mission" That's so creepy crawly cool don't u think?! ...Why aren't the adult congregation doing something as interesting and creative like them? I'm excited at what my brother's gonna learn in his sunday school. Maybe he can teach me and i post it here?!..heeh if only i can attend too! haha =P
Tml's the start of my church 40 Days Of Purpose. Expecting great things to come our way

Calm and Relaxed.. or is it?
After another long night at work... till 4am, I've finally finished and submitted another assignment! well, can't say that i actually did put in much effort on this one, considering that i had the year-long project to think about before this, but at least i still managed to finish it and i should be able to get pretty good grades for this 20% assignment... another 1 presentation, 1 lab session and 1 reflective essay to go before the exams...
but i haven't started studying yet... and i've been really slack this semester... the mood's just not getting to me... shouldn't i be studying already? shouldn't i be at least attending lectures or something? perhaps even starting to get my notes printed would be a good idea, since the exams are only a couple of weeks away!! God help me help myself.... man this is one stressed up semester...

It's OVER!!! ... and I'm zonked out...
finally my dreaded year-long project implementation is over!!! this week has been insane man!! had to hand up 2 assignments on monday.. was up until 540am mon morning... then did this project from 10pm till 2am on mon, tues from 4pm till 3am, then wed from 1230pm till 745am thurs and 10am till our presentation at 2pm!!! yep 24hours in school... i think we actually did more work during this week than we did throughout the whole course!! =) but man i'm tired... not enough sleep.. and there were other things happening throughout the week as well....
tues night
met at creative while taking a break from project... luckily i'm not on friday, so can relax! hehe.. =) Ps David Evans organised the entire creative team to do recording for the choir vocals for the CD... heard they stayed from 730pm to 1130pm man!! good thing that I had to head back to do project.. but then also found out that Jindalee only needed 2 acoustic guitarists for sunday, and Sven can't make it, so Carl and I are going out west...
thurs night
after catching some snooze, met Nelson and gang at 8pm to celebrate his convocation! for once, Nelson looked real smart in his shirt and tie.. hehehe... =P anyway, then went to Jazzycat cafe at West End for coffee! I originally ordered a typical ice mocha drink.. but Laurel didn't really like her Affogatto, so I swapped with her. The Affogatto is black coffee with 2 scoops of ice cream in a bowl. real cool man.. Laurel put a little bit too much sugar though, but luckily still had the kopi-o bitter aftertaste.. =) then cos alex, me and milton hadn't had dinner, went to drive-thru KFC then went Milton's house to eat.. in the end we were there from 11pm to 2am eating and also talking with Regina about all sorts of stuff... from drinking, to army, even cursing!! =P
today
was asked by David Lewis to help out with Exo Day at Calvary Christian College at Beenleigh, that's where the daughter of Chris, who's one of the key leaders for vocalists, and Greg, who's our production team head (he's got his own av company!!) studies at... so cool man, the event is like organised for the students by the students themselves... like where to find in Singapore where the students are given that much freedom to run stuff... and it was well done too!! there was a free sausage sizzle lunch, stage with our BCC Urban Youth band (inc me) as the guest band, games, some dance, beatboxing, etc etc... out in the sun, in the school quadrangle... how cool is that.. hehehe.. =P So that was an interesting start to the day.. was glad that I was asked to help out.. though i stuffed up the chords quite a bit cos I only learnt the songs last night!!
then xlr8 was awesome as usual... Nick brought in his new toy.. Roland electronic drum kit to use... Andy mixed in the traditional snare, hi-hat and cymbals, but still felt that it didn't blend very well.... but the band sounded great as usual =) and it was a refreshing time for me, being able to just soak in and worship without worrying about chords or playing or song list etc... =)
that's for my long post... got another 3 more assignments to go before the exams... so ONWARDS!!! but first.... ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............. *snore*

Whales and Stories...
Hey everyone!! back to blog again... went to Hervey Bay (pronounced Har-vey) on Wednesday.. supposed to go and catch the whale-watching boat... Let's take the story from the beginning...
We all met at 8am on wed morning at Toowong Woolworths to pass Regina the money and organise the cars and all that.. we only left at around 9am and we had about 4 hours to get there cos the boat leaves at 1.30pm. Poor Rachel only found out that her license was expired and had to go Qld Transport to get it renewed! So she left the city about 10am.. considering that Hervey Bay is about 300+km away from Brisbane, we estimated about a 4+ hours drive!! so we really rushed.. stopping at 2 pit-stops along the way... travelling at an average of 120km/h... but there was so many roadworks along Bruce Highway!!! and traffic really slowed to a crawl man!! we practically had to literally STOP for at least 10mins at every roadwork!! my car managed to reach there like 5mins late, but we walked to the wrong part of the jetty, and had to double back.. by that time only Regina's car was on the boat... AND THE BOAT LEFT!!!!!! Yes.. it left with only 5 people in our group out of 31 on board!!!!
So the company gave us the option of staying for a night and getting on the morning boat at 830am... sadly not all of us could stay behind cos they had other commitments the following day, so half of us stayed behind and half left... come all the way from Brisbane to see whales, you wouldn't want to drive back empty-handed!!! so they managed to get us located at YHA log cabins just a few minutes down the road for $20 each... its quite alright.. for the 4-bed dorms but the 2-bed dorms were practically prison cells!!! so small... and no aircon!! at least the 4-bed ones had aircon!! hahaha.. =P But those who stayed, we had heaps of fun man.. shopping around the Hervey Bay area, having dinner, all crashing in one of the rooms to talk rubbish and share life... got to know everyone a little better... =)
then came the next morning!!! everyone was excited to get on board, talk about finally!! hehehe.. but the trip was well-worth the wait!!! we saw quite a number of pods, though it took about 45mins in before we actually saw something... there was one whale who was constantly flipping and waving its fin, splashing it into the water... we also saw this super hyperactive whale calf that was constantly flipping, for over like 10mins... with the mother just beside it.. and saw another pod where the mother and calf were both flipping together... way cool man!!!! and one pod of 1 calf and mother and father came up really close to the boat... just a couple of metres away!! got some really cool shots.. =) will post these up when i've consolidated them.. =)
we all returned home really happy and really burnt too!! cos the afternoon sun while we were heading back to the boat was HOT!!! Milton lay on the deck while we were heading back to the bay and it was only about half an hour, but he got really burnt bad on the face and legs too!! I only got it on the face and arm cos I was wearing jeans.. so i'm really dark now.. and my face is starting to peel.. hahahah!! not the way to get a tan i assure you.. =)
that's my whale-watching experience.. man its really God's awesome creation man... you gotta see it to believe it.. such magnificent creatures... graceful, active, unknowingly intelligent and complex creatures... so cool... =)
Till I get the photos up, its back to work for me!! more deadlines to meet!! =P adios!!!
